BEN'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!

Today is Ben's first birthday and we've been celebrating in grand style! We had a pool party last weekend, we had a nice dinner tonight with my parents who are in from Ohio for the occasion, and we're headed up to Rhode Island to see Ben's Great Grandparents for a few days where we will no doubt be celebrating again! Below are some pics showing you all the fun we had today!

Ben's morning started up by him discovering his gift from Nana and Poppy when he came downstairs in the morning. He proceded to inspect it from all sides.

"Yup the door frame seems to be up to code"

"And the window spacing is just marvelous"

"But the icing on the cake is this slide thing! By the way, its almost as fun to climb up the slide as it is to come down it!"

Then Ben helped Poppy eat his breakfast

Later in the day, after lunch, it was so hot out that Ben actually climbed into the pool while I was filling it. This is after we had stripped him down. He loved playing with the stream of water out of the hose!
"How come I can't grab this thing. I see it, but I can't get a good hold of it!"
After having a nice dinner with Mommy, Daddy, Nana, Poppy, and OmaJoon, Ben was presented with his second birthday cake of the week! He was a bit confused at the singing and not quite sure what to do about the cake infront of him!

But he eventually figured it out and crammed most of the piece into his mouth!

"Enough already, aren't there supposed to be gifts and cards now?"
Ben figured that anybody can read a card rightside up, but only advanced one-year-olds can read it upside down!

Happy 1st Birthday to Ben!
Isn't it amazing how FAST the first year goes by?
It's neat to see Ben with his cake, Noah DOVE IN to his (you'll have to visit my blog to see!)
Someday Ben & Noah will have to meet, play together, & discuss how wonderful July 10th is!

Happy belated birthday Ben! When our friend's daughter Isabel turned 1 she liked the cards better than the presents!
