On Saturday, we traveled up to Emerald Isle to stay with Dave's parents for a few days at the beach! On Sunday, we celebrated Nana's birthday with her! We decided to grill and Dave was in charge of the shishkabobs. He learned a lesson worth passing on to all of our readers. Make sure there is plenty of charcoal so you don't have to put any on while the food is on the grill. Someone kindly let him put the food on after he was done with the grill but more charcoal needed to be added to make it hotter. As a result, our food smelled (and tasted??) like lighter fluid... sorry about your birthday dinner, Nana!
We ended the evening with some strawberry shortcake... and it tasted great!
Ben had a blast being able to walk right to the beach and the pool. He was so good! Of course, Ben wanted everything that everyone else had at the beach (or to play in their holes), and people were nice enough to share their toys and sand with him. Two of the days when it got to be around 1, he was asking to go night night! He loves his naps! So he got some shut eye and came out for more time in the water.
He's on a mission to put water on someone's legs... and then go back and fill it up... and then put water on someone's legs...
Ben also got to play in the water and sand with Aunt Libby for a few hours before we left!
