When I can meet friends at the beach, I will take the kids for a few hours during the week. I'm too chicken to go by myself for fear that Ben will take off into the water while Maaike is shoving handfuls of sand into her mouth and getting splashed by water... and there's only one of me. I'm just too chicken to try! (or maybe just smart!) Anyway, we've been going about once a week with friends so it's working out okay.
We hit the jackpot when there are tidal pools at the beach. Both kids are very happy to splash in the water and I don't have to worry about safety!
Maaike's just a bit excited to have something to stick in her mouth (other than sand)!
