Sunday was "Be a Tourist in Your Own Town" for Wilmington, so the Battleship USS Carolina was free for residents. Ben and I took the walking tour! Ben loved seeing all the guages, nozzles, valves, hoses, mortars, bunks, doors, guns, etc. I had the difficult task of keeping a much smaller and more mobile "guest" (Ben) out of harms way. He was very quick to disregard the chains and signs meant to keep visitors out of certain parts of the ship. I, being over six feet tall, had a difficulet time squeezing into the smaller areas to corral him! But we did have a good time enjoying the beautiful weather on the deck and seeing the close quarters below!
Here's Ben laying down some some anti-aircraft fire!
"I can lift those chains Daddy! Watch me!" Followed quickly by, "those are really heavy!"
