One day, Ben, Maaike and I decided to go with Lainie and Cory to look at a venue where she could hold a bridal shower for a friend. While we were there, we saw some paddleboats innocently and safely on a lake and decided it would be fun to take the kids! We could only fit 4 of us so after some tears, Cory said he would stay behind while we lived it up on the paddleboat! And because of Cory sacrificing his place on the boat (and with the help of his phone) we have pictures to document our experience...
Yay for paddleboats! Or so we thought...
Why is another paddleboat bumping in to us????
Because we got stuck on a pipe! Yup... the water apparently had gotten too low in the lake and we found probably the only pipe in the lake to get stuck on! But wait, it gets better!
These nice persistent people tried and tried to bump us off to no avail...
So the nice woman's daughter tried to push us off by leaning over and pushing with her hands... and...
...she fell in the gross lake water! We were MORTIFIED for this poor girl! She had such a great attitude about it! She was laughing, her mother was laughing, Lainie and I were laughing, Ben just wanted to get to shore, Maaike sucked her thumb... And not because we thought it was funny... because we felt so bad for this girl in the nasty water (and the fact that it didn't even work! We were still stuck!)
How did we survive you ask?The girl swam to shore because she couldn't get back into her paddleboat. Cory came in another paddleboat and got Ben and Lainie off and I was able to unstick our paddleboat by putting my foot on the slimiest pipe imagineable and pushing us off!
Needless to say, it was quite an experience. Ask Ben... he remembers it like it was yesterday...

Problem solving at its best. Soooo didn't Maaike have a b'day party? or did the camera break? Just wondering!
Didn't something else similar to this happen in a canoe? I don't know...maybe I'm confusing you with another story. :-) Funny, funny story.
