TRIP UP NORTH: LEG 3

We left Cape Cod on the 12th and headed for NY to stay with my brother and sister-in-law on their farm! We had a great time with them!

On Saturday, we swam at Lainie's soon-to-be parent's-in-laws pool. I only took this one picture but it was so nice to relax after a long drive and chill out by their beautiful pool!

Meet Peanut: the not-so-nice goat! She's the youngest but the biggest and has mastered the art of head butting! We enjoyed watching her activities and felt bad, especially when she'd head butt her own mother!

Meet Welby the horse! She was Maaike's favorite, I think! What a difference a year made for Maaike on the farm! She was excited to do and see everything! Suzi helped Maaike feed Welby a carrot but from then on, Maaike fed Welby by herself!

Ben was in his element when he was outside! Unfortunately it rained a lot while we were in NY so Ben didn't get to be outside as much as we all would have liked :)

In the chicken coop (egg laying chickens, that is)

On one of the rainy days, we went to Jumpin' Jakes and the kids had a blast!

Lexi, unfortunately, was swallowed by one!

But we found her!

Suzi and Lexi

After Jumpin' Jakes, we just had to eat at Friendly's. We don't have one in Wilmington!

Cone head sundae for Maaike.... took this because this is Uncle Neel's favorite! Lainie, apparently, wasn't a big fan...

Ben went the route of creating his own sundae! He had a blast dumping on all of his toppings and then took about 3 bites before he was finished!

One day, it looked like we had some time without rain so we took the kids to the park where Neel enjoyed being a kid!

Well, once again, the skies opened up! So I happily stayed under the pavilion with Lexi while Lainie and Neel played with the kids for a bit! They had a great time!

Our last day on the farm... and it was a beautiful, sunny day! Ben's getting the food ready for the meat chickens...

....Maaike was right there with him!

They stunk- FYI (the chickens, not the kids!)

But the kids didn't mind!

Time to see the cows... Maaike had to push her new stroller from Aunt Lainie!

Neel and Ben had to move the cows further up the field.

They moved the fence and then got behind the cows to move them to the next part of the field.

Lainie was meant to be a farm girl, don't you think!?

On our way to see the pigs. This is the first time Neel and Suzi are trying out pig raising! It's been a good experience so far for them and they should have some yummy bacon (and other pig stuff) on their table sometime this fall!

Saying goodbye to Aunt Lainie....

The 3 siblings with the 3 corresponding sibling kids...

Saying goodbye to the goats...

We had a great time on your farm!!!

I was able to see my friend, Kendel and her 2 kids, Zach and Emi. The kids loved seeing their old friends!

On the way back home, I spent one night with my college friend, Carrie. My how things have changed since college! Here we are with our 6 kids!
We had a great time away but I was definitely excited to see my home and my bed!
