CATCH UP TIME!- LEXI B-DAY --- MID-JUNE

Wow!  That was quite a break from the blogging world!  I was debating on whether or not to stop altogether, but I know it keeps our friends and family connected to what we're doing in NC so my conscience got the best of me and I'm going to do some major catch-up now!

The girls had swim lessons after preschool was over and they both did great!  Maaike is a little fish and she learned stroke technique and how to dive!

Lexi learned how to swim without her bubble!  Only toys, goggles and towels for us at the pool now!  She really worked super hard and I was so proud to watch her get rid of her bubble!

Ben did a summer swim team and he loved it!  It was intense, practice every day for almost 2 1/2 months but it was completely worth it because he got so much out of it and truly enjoyed himself.  He even got a ribbon or 2 at each meet!

Maaike got a horse lesson on afternoon to prepare for her horse camp!  She loves horses and had a great time!

I'm a little mixed up in the timeline but just go with it.  More of Lexi's birthday pictures!  After her birthday party, we headed up to Emerald Isle for the weekend to see my Aunt, Uncle, Cousins and their significant others and 1 baby!  Well, Anneke wouldn't want to be called a baby... she was 16 months!  We had a great time!

Smile, Lexi!

Another birthday cake and celebration for our 4 year old!

Swimming at the indoor pool

Ali and Alex at the beach with the girls.

Aunt Lois and Ben playing ______.  Can't remember the actual name but we'll call it paddle ball.

Shark!

Mermaids!

The girls had some fun with Joon Joon's glasses!

My mom got the girls matching dresses and Ben a shirt for some beach pictures...  The pictures speak for themselves...

Maaike:  "It's too bright."  (In the whiniest voice possible.)

Anneke and Katie- who was not planning to be in the pictures but it's the only way Anneke would stay!

Let's pretend that the girls are happily strolling along...  (In actuality, they were grumps!)

So then we decided to try another one of the girls on the porch and this is what we came up with!  Ha!

Poor Ali was such a good sport!

On June 1, 2014, my Oma passed away and a piece of my heart broke.  She was always such a sweet lady and I'm so glad for the memories I have of her.  We had some warning and were able to say our goodbyes to her.  She passed away peacefully in hospice.  Here are some pictures...

She love, love, loved her great grandchildren!

Neel, Suzi and Bear came to visit... some boating pictures!

The boat broke down, had to get pulled by Seatow and Bear was pretty unaffected by the whole thing!
