LAURELYN FOR A WEEK!!!

We came back from Charlotte with a special passenger... Aunt Laurelyn!  We got to spend a glorious week with her before she headed back to California!  Dave took the week off, too!

One morning we took the boat out.

Then we headed up to Emerald Isle and spent a few days at Mom's!  The weather was great the whole time and the kids were particularly excited about this dessert!

Uncle Peter and Aunt Carol joined us for a few days also!  Lexi, who doesn't love the waves, had a great time playing in the sand with Uncle Peter.

Laurelyn and Dave helped the kids boogie board their hearts out!

And then came a wave that wasn't so successful for either of them...

... Ben nose dived to the sand and Laurelyn was taken captive by the wave as well!

We celebrated Ben's 7th birthday at the beach!

We took him to a local water park with a few water slides and a pretty decent kids area.  Lexi spent most of her time at the kids area and had a blast!

Ben loved his birthday surprise!  There were only 3 water slides but the kids were very happily entertained for the 2 hours we were there.

Laurelyn!

Lexi tried the big water slide once.... at the top, she started sitting on top of her mat but this is how she came down... on her belly in front of her mat!  Laurelyn caught her safely at the bottom.  Did Lexi want to go down the big slide again?  No way!  But she didn't cry about it.... just preferred the kids area.

There was a decent sized slide in the kids area that we could take Lexi down with us.  She wanted to do that over and over!

Maaike rocked the big slides, too!

Apparently, Dave was just plain bored :)

Laurelyn was anything but bored!
