Last Wednesday, Lexi said bye-bye to the crib! We opted for the toddler bed route since my friend had one we could have for free! I have to figure out what to do in the girls bedroom anyway, (bunk beds, loft bed... who knows!) so this buys us some time! Here she is testing out her new sleeping arrangements!
Our nurturing middle child tucking in her little sis!
Yay for my bed!
So... how did she do???
GREAT! To date (1 week and 1 day) she has not gotten out of her bed until we come in to get her! Good listening to Mommy and Daddy, Lexi! Since the girls share a room, I was really thinking Lexi would be up in Maaike's bed as fast as she could but she hasn't tried.... yet! I know there will be a time, but for now it's wonderful that she stays.
My friend didn't have screws for the (very short) side rails so we used the rail we used to put on Maaike's bed but it wasn't too effective as you can see!
There have been a few times that we've had to rescue a stuck Lexi!
Uncle Hubie stayed with us for a night when he was down to visit Oma! The kids love guests and were happy to have Uncle Hubie here. Maaike automatically brings him books to read now... no more shyness! Lexi warmed up nicely, too!
Sisterly love...
Maaike taking a snooze with Daddy!
There was one morning this week where the kids played so nicely for a lot longer than usual! Don't mind the sweatshirts... Maaike thinks it's cool that she has Ben's hoodie and Lexi... well... monkey-see monkey-do!
Ben can have a hard time sharing his legos but I had to document his wonderful sharing this particular morning!
Daddy finally got screws for the side rails and needed a helper! Ben must have asked him 100 questions while he was "assisting".
She loves wearing Daddy's hats around the house!
Happy 4th of July!
This is a great day for many reasons:
Lainie turned 29! She is just about the coolest sister ever and deserves fireworks on her birthday!
At 10:30 AM, the kids got another cousin! Grant Nathaniel Fuller was born at a healthy 10 lb. 12 oz! Everyone is doing great!
And not as exciting news as our birthday shout-outs... the kids got to decorate brownie bites for the 4th at our friends house! Here they are in their patriotic colors and yummy, yummy brownie delights!
They also got to stay up way past their bedtime. We got back from our friends house around 9 and fireworks were already starting. We usually sit in the cul-de-sac with our neighbors and watch fireworks go up all around us! It's pretty cool and nice not to have to deal with lots of traffic! Here's how the kids did:
Lexi puttered out at 9:30 asking for her "neigh" - horse blankie. So Dave put her to bed without a peep.
Maaike sat on my lap the whole time but didn't cover her ears... she was only a little nervous! She pointed out the ones she liked and we bonded!
Ben ran around with our neighbor friends and had a blast!
We got them in bed at 10! But it was a great family moment and they had a great night!
